Thailand Calling Code


Thailand calling code varies from one city to another.

To call someone in Thailand, you need to dial the exit country code+66+ the code of the city where you call+ the person’s phone number.


If you want to call someone from Bangkok, the city code is 2; Samut Prakan, Phatum Thani and Nonthaburi have the same city code: 2.


For the Thailand calling code in Chiang Rai you need the city code: 53, the same for Chiang Mai, Mae Hong Son and Lamphun.

35 is the city code for the Thailand calling code in Suphan Buri, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya and Ang Thong.


Samut Songkhram, Kanchanaburi, Samut Sakhon and Nakhon Pathom have the same city code: 34.


For Ratchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan has the city code: 32. For theThailand calling code in Sing Buri, Saraburi and Lop Buri you need the city code which is 36. To call in Rayong, Chon Buri and Chachoengsao the city code is 38 and to call in Sa Kaeo, Prachin Buri and Nakhon Nayok, the city code is 37. For theThailand calling code in Chanthaburi and Trat you need to use 39, the city code, while 42 is the city code you have to use when calling to Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Loei, Sakon Nakhon, Mukdahan, Nong Bua Lamphu and Nakhon Phanom. Four cities share the same city code-43: Roi Et, Maha Sarakham, Khon Kaen and Kalasin. 44 is the city code for calling in: Surin, Nakhon Ratchasima, Chaiyaphum and Buri Ram and 45 is for Yasothon,

The city code is 76. In case you need the city code for the Thailand calling code of Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat, is 73. Satun, Phatthalung and Songkhla have the same city code: 74, while the city code of Trang, Krabi and Nakhon Si Thammarat is 75.


To call someone in Ranong, Chumphon and Surat Thani, the city code for these places is 77. The calls made inside Bangkok look like: 02+the seven digit phone number and the calls from Chiang Mai to the capital of Thailand look like: 02+the 7 digit number. The prefix 0 must be omitted when you call from outside Thailand. As regarding the mobile phone numbers, they are with one digit longer than the land line numbers.


Thailand used the two digit prefix for the mobile phones numbers (such as 01, 09) but since 2006 the prefix has 3 digit. The system was changed by Thailand’s authorities and instead of 01 the prefix is now 081, 09 is 089 and so on. The difference between the mobile phone numbers and the land lines is that the first have 10 digits and the last, 9.
